Exciting Funding news!
We’re delighted to share that Kindling Therapies CIC has been awarded funding from Youth Music to continue and develop our pilot music group in partnership with Special Lioness.
This project is focused on creating accessible, inclusive opportunities for young people with disabilities to engage in group music-making. Through a supportive and creative environment, participants are encouraged to explore sound, express themselves, and connect with others in ways that feel meaningful and empowering.
Following the success of last year’s pilot, we saw first-hand the impact that shared musical experiences can have—building confidence, fostering connection, and creating a space where every contribution is valued. This next phase will allow us to deepen that work and reach more young people.
Sessions will begin in May, and we’re excited to see how the group evolves and what the participants create together. We’re incredibly grateful to Youth Music for their support, and to Special Lioness for their ongoing collaboration.

Private Sessions in North Shields
We’re excited to share some wonderful news.
From this month, we will be offering private one-to-one music therapy sessions at St Columbas Church in North Shields. These sessions provide a warm, welcoming space for individuals to explore, express and connect through music in a supportive therapeutic setting.
We’re also delighted to announce new partnerships with Railway Medical Group in Blyth and Philips Court Care Home, where we are now delivering regular music therapy sessions.
It’s a privilege to bring music therapy into these communities, and we’re looking forward to the connections and creativity that will grow from this work.
If you’d like to find out more about how music therapy could support you, your family member, or your organisation, please get in touch — we’d love to talk about what we can offer.

Happy belated new year!
Last year, we were delighted to work in partnership with Special Lioness Charity in Washington on a 9-week music therapy and art therapy pilot project supporting young people with additional needs and their families, funded by the National Lottery.
The sessions were a really positive experience. The young people engaged enthusiastically with the music, and it was heartwarming to see confidence, expression and connection grow week by week. Parents also shared how much they enjoyed seeing their children come alive through music, and how meaningful it felt to be part of the process.
We’re very grateful to Special Lioness Charity for the opportunity to collaborate on this pilot, and we’re hopeful that this work will continue in the future.
Watch this space!
